Our Accountant performs various general accounting and bookkeeping duties including administration of Accounts Payable/Receivable, data entry, posting entries from a wide variety of sources into journals, preparing EFT payments, performing manufacturing data analysis, and cross-training with the Accounting Manager as needed.
Position responsibilities include:
Compiles and analyzes data to provide financial and statistical information such as cash expenditure trends, accounts payable & accounts receivable status, project costs, customer profitability, manufacturing standard vs.
actual performance, and management reporting pertinent to the operation of the business.
Verifies, allocates, records and posts details of financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable; specifically entering vendor bills for payment and processing sales invoices for collections, cash applications, expense reports and credit card processing.
Prepares monthly cash forecast.
Researches and resolves inquiries from vendors and customers regarding invoicing and payments.
Routinely communicates with both customers and suppliers to ensure smooth and timely collection and payments.
Interacts with Sales, Purchasing and Production Managers to resolve accounting based discrepancies with vendors, customers, job costs and inventory.
Records general ledger activity with related parties and intercompany transaction with our subsidiary and records all bank activity and examines bank statements to reconcile them with general ledger.
Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting 3-5 years of progressive general accounting and bookkeeping experience working within an ERP system.
Manufacturing environment experience a plus but not required Intermediate Excel user Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellence verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills needed to effectively convey information to others Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and business needs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment English language competency (speaking, comprehension, reading and writing) commensurate with the duties Must be able to pass E-Verify, pre-employment background checks and a 9-panel drug test.
This is a 100% onsite position Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in Charlton MA.
